Would it be fair to say that being a Christian means to love, study and apply Jesus' teachings, here and now in 2019!

A prerequisite for following Jesus, through the aid of scripture, is to learn what the words actually mean, beyond hearsay.
Being sincere and vigilant, we also need to know the tools we are using; most importantly our own mind.
We cannot serve two masters, we cannot fill new wine (new insights) into old skins/habits.
Believing is a stepping-stone to get us started, but it has to be replaced by direct knowing.
